General Rules:

Anyone who has painted with Peace River Painters during the past three years may enter the Annual Show.  The work does not have to be strictly plein air. It can be inspired by plein air, a studio piece, or a work you started in the field and completed in studio. However, please submit work representative of Southwest Florida, i.e., no abstracts or scenes obviously representing other locations.  Any paintings that do not conform to these criteria may be rejected.  If you have a doubt, please ask in advance.

  • Categories are, painting (including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, gouache, casein) and drawing. Giclees, photographs, mixed media and digital prints are not eligible.
  • Artwork must have artist’s name, email address, phone number, price and title of work on reverse of painting.
  • Works must be completely original and thoroughly dry. Duplication of another’s photography or art, whether by machine or paint, is considered copyright infringement and is not acceptable. Your submissions must be originally conceived, your own reference, your own drawing, your own concept and self-painted. Paintings created in an instructional setting are not considered original artwork.
  • Must be completed within the last three years.
  • Must not be removed prior to the completion of the exhibit unless sold and removed by purchaser.
  • All work must be for sale. If work is sold and removed, Artist may replace with similar work.
  • Must not exceed 30 inches on any side (unframed).
  • Must not use glass when framed works exceed 16 x 20 inches. Plexiglass is recommended for all work under glass.
  • Watercolor limited to half sheet in size.

  • Must be securely fastened with picture wire. The center of the wire should be a minimum of 3” below the top of the frame when stretched so that hanging hardware does not show.
  • Artists may submit a one-page Bio which will be displayed in a notebook at the gallery.
